Our History

Hi, my name is Levi Sanchez and I'm the owner of Swap-A-Bill Baits. Since I was born I have always had a passion for fishing. Growing up I would often find myself with some friends always on a body of water somewhere having a blast catching fish. When I entered high school, I noticed that I was very good at fishing and I wanted to fish competitively instead of just for fun. Since my school didn't offer a team, I started my own team with the help of a fellow teacher. Throughout my high school fishing career, I became very intrigued in the design of baits and the engineering concepts behind them. After high school I went to Clemson University to pursue a bachelors degree in Water Resource Engineering. While at Clemson, I joined the bass fishing team so that I could compete at the collegiate level. One weekend I was out pre-fishing for a local tournament and had phenomenal success with a crankbait that I had built with interchangeable lips. When I got back to the boat ramp their was a large group of fisherman all talking about how awful the fishing was that day. One of them asked me "how'd ya do out there?" and I responded with "Great." They had all had a horrible day of fishing so they asked me what I was throwing and I showed them my crankbait with interchangeable lips. They were all immediately amazed by the bait and tried to buy it from me.

I had always had the dream of starting a fishing company but never did because it seems every company sells pretty much the same thing. While driving back to campus that day, I realized that I should start a company and sell innovative fishing gear starting with crankbaits with interchangeable lips. Between classes and fishing, I studied the designs of many baits trying to find what makes some better or worse than others. While studying some of the big companies I noticed that all the big brands manufacture their baits overseas. I want my company to be something I'm proud of so I decided that no matter how much it cost me, my baits will be MADE IN AMERICA. I also didn't want to be "just another" company so I decided that every product Swap-A-Bill produces will be innovative and made with the best materials.
